    Convert a transparent PNG to JPEG, or WebP to PNG

    Choose the output format for your destination. Conversion keeps the image dimensions; it does not restore detail lost in the original.

    1. Keep a transparent background

      Choose PNG or WebP when you need transparency. PNG uses lossless re-encoding; WebP quality controls can change image detail.

    2. Choose a background for JPEG

      JPEG cannot store transparency. Select JPEG, choose a background colour, process the images and check the preview before downloading.

    3. Convert WebP for another app

      Choose PNG for transparent WebP images, or JPEG for opaque photos. You can convert several images and download them together as a ZIP.

    Changing the extension does not convert a file. This tool re-encodes static JPEG, PNG and WebP locally; GIF, HEIC and SVG are not supported.

    Common questions

    How do PNG and JPEG handle transparency?

    PNG and WebP can retain transparent areas. JPEG requires a solid background, using your selected colour.

    Will conversion resize my image?

    Conversion keeps the source pixel dimensions after applying its orientation. To change dimensions, use the batch resizer.

    Are HEIC, GIF and animations supported?

    This version supports static JPEG, PNG and WebP only. HEIC, GIF, SVG and animated images are not supported. If your browser cannot encode WebP, select PNG or JPEG.
